The 21st annual Breaks Park Easter Egg Hunt and second annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is planned for Saturday, April 4. An Easter Sunrise Service is planned on Sunday, April 5, as well as the Rhododendron Restaurant’s Easter Buffet.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny will begin at 9 am on Saturday with a breakfast buffet. The buffet will be $8.95 for adults and $4.95 for children up to 10 years old, drink not included.

A Sunrise Service will be held at Potter’s Knoll shelter beginning at 6 am on Easter Sunday.

The Easter buffet at the Rhododendron Restaurant will run from 11 am to 4 pm on Easter Sunday. It will feature pot roast with potatoes and carrots, ham, fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, corn, yams, and fried okra. A full salad bar and dessert bar is also included. The buffet will be $14.95 for ages 11 and up; $7.95 for ages 4 to 10; and ages 3 and under are free.

The Easter Egg hunt on Saturday will have 3,000 eggs, with hundreds of prizes ranging from coloring books to electronics. The Egg Hunt will be for children ages 1 to 12, with three separate age groups: ages 1-3; ages 4-7; and ages 8-12. The event will be held on Potter’s Knoll. The Easter Bunny will arrive at 10:30 to pose for photos and hand out treats, and the Egg Hunt will begin promptly at 11 am.

Breaks has again partnered with The Haysi-Clinchco Lions Club, the Haysi Kiwanis Club, the Town of Haysi, Town of Clinchco, and the Haysi Partners to make it even more exciting. Each egg at the Breaks Easter Egg hunt will contain the first part of a special phrase. The second half of that special phrase will be found in four lucky eggs at the Community Easter Egg Hunt held at the Haysi Kiwanis Park, beginning at 1 pm. The four participants who find both parts of the special phrase will win a $50 cash prize, donated by Belcher Insurance Agency. To win cash prizes, participants must attend both events.

The third-annual Community Easter Egg hunt in Haysi will be open to children 12 and under, and will be split into four egg hunts for different age groups. Each age group will have one lucky egg with the final part of the lucky phrase. Gates will open for registration at 11 am. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for pictures and to greet children. Additionally, there will be prizes, games, bounce houses, and other activities.
