Heritage Days features a carnival, car show, live music and more.
The feud is over, let the fun begin! Hatfield and McCoy Heritage Days is coming to Pikeville and Pike County, Kentucky, Labor Day weekend. Expect plenty of friends, food, and fun during this highly anticipated event. You don’t have to be a Hatfield or a McCoy to attend, everyone is welcome! Craftsmen from feud country will be displaying their skill during the event, with basket weaving demonstrations, a quilt showcase and more. Music lovers will enjoy a special concert at the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center, a gospel sing and three stages of music featuring local artists. Two separate theatre productions will also be available, with “Blood Song: The Story of the Hatfields and the McCoys” performances being held at the Hatfield McCoy Park Outdoor Theatre in McCarr, Kentucky., and “FEUD” at the Jenny Wiley Theatre in Pikeville City. The award-winning Muscle on Main car show is also planned for this event, featuring classics, hotrods, a burnout and more.
A Hatfield-McCoy event wouldn’t be complete without outdoor adventure. Hatfield-McCoy Adventures is hosting a 2 mile kayak, 3 mile run and 12 mile bike ride that will be sure to challenge your endurance. Tech savvy geocachers are also invited to attend the Hatfield McCoy Geotrail’s major geocaching event going on during the festival.
