Times Square Ad

The Hatfields and McCoys have arrived in New York’s Times Square. Pike County Tourism CVB has secured an advertisement spot on the famous New York strip, which will be visible to millions of people both traversing this illustrious street and by way of television. The advertisement, which prominently features Pikeville/Pike County’s Hatfield & McCoy Historic Tour, will be on rotation from March 21st through the 26th, and can be viewed during the ABC’s Good Morning America.

As a part of this marketing package, Hatfield & McCoy Historic Tour advertising will also be on display in the Financial District of Toronto, Canada. This location features the world’s largest underground mall, with foot traffic in the millions.

“Our goal at Pike County Tourism CVB is to bring people from all around the country, and the world, to Pike County, Kentucky,” said Tony K. Tackett, Executive Director. “The interest is there, people want to learn more about the feud, and explore these sites for themselves. Since the already legendary feud was invigorated by the History Channel’s Hatfields & McCoys miniseries, people from all over the world have flocked to Pikeville/Pike County, Kentucky, and across the Tug into West Virginia, to explore the feud sites and see the history for themselves.”

Jay Shepherd, Pike County Tourism CVB’s Marketing Director, explains his approach to this critical project. “There is a wealth of great outdoor locations in America,” he said. “The Hatfield McCoy Feud is something our region offers the world that is truly unique. We wanted to focus on this, and through this, the visitor can learn about all of our other offerings.”

This will go a long way in showing the world what Pike County has to offer.”
