Noted Pike County historian William David Deskins will be signing his latest work, Ginseng, Coal Dust, Moving Mountains–A History of Pike County Kentucky on Saturday, February 24, from 2-4 p.m., at BookNotes at the Town & Country Shopping Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. At over 400 pages and all new photographs, it is a re-written and expanded version of his 1994 book, Pike County–A Very Different Place.
Joining him will be well-known regional historians Randall Osborne, signing Marauder: The Life and Times of Nathaniel McClure Menefee and Judge John David Preston signing The Civil War in the Big Sandy Valley of Kentucky. Other historical books will also be available for purchase.
